- This was the perfect stop for our group of 3 families- including 7 kids! Our kids only wanted to hang out at the house instead of doing all the amazing things offered around Mesa Verde. The large gorgeous front yard was perfect for soccer, football, or anything else our kids could conjure up. The game room was also a huge hit. Clearly, the hosts have kept families and kids in mind when staying here, and we appreciated it!

JanElle should have a super host status, they went far and beyond what was written on the website-- cooked gourmet breakfast with extra portions for my hungry boys, brought printer from her house so we can print some paperwork and even made me a batch of her signature apricot jam to take home with me. The house was so spacious, hosts don't leave there, but there were other rooms for occupants with shared kitchen and playroom. We didn't feel crowded at all, hosts even separated us for breakfast because of Covid 19 scare. My boys LOVED the space-- there were so many toys there in a separate playroom, we didn't see them because they were so busy playing. Overall, the best stay ever, we will recommend it to all our friends and would love to come back! 
Veronika7/24/2020We loved staying here! Dolores is such a fun, cute little town and the house was situated in a great spot for seeing all the sights we wanted to hit.
The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The kitchen and bathrooms were extremely well stocked and there was plenty of extra bedding and things all around. The kids LOVED the toy room and we loved that we could shut the door and get some peace and quiet while they played. They spent most of the time on the playground, tire swing, or watching for deer on the porch. We had plenty of space in the kitchen (2 large tables), and loved that we could have a space for each family we were traveling with. We spent delightful evenings on the porch, and would love to return.
The only thing on our wish list that was missing was a washer and dryer. 
Mindy8/15/2021The unit was the perfect size and layout for our family of five. The location is mere minutes from the entrance to Canyon of the Ancients National Monument and a very short drive to Mesa Verda National Park. It is near enough to town to provide easy access to stores and restaurants while still being just enough "off the beaten path" to be peacefully quiet and provide many opportunities to enjoy the passing deer. The common-area kitchen was clean and well equipped for all our cooking needs. My daughter loved the tire swing out front while my son played the piano in the spacious common-area living/dining room. The host communicated well and made check-in and check-out super easy. We definitely plan to stay here again in the near future! Luke10/06/2021JaNelle was amazing and so is her property. Lee11/21/2020We were a large group of 14. When we arrive at Mountain View Lodge everything was ready the lights were even on. The lodge is so curly decorated. We were four families and had enough rooms for each family. The kids were able to run around in the large yard, play games in the games room. When asked what they wanted to do they replied play. There was even a tree swing which the kids loved. Our stay their was relaxing and very peaceful. Mountain View Lodge is a hidden gem. The scenery was amazing! JoaElle was a wonderful host. This is a place I would love to return to. Thank you for a great vacation!

We booked pretty last minute in July 🥵 so the bedrooms were pretty hot upon arrival but the hosts were extremely accommodating and helped us utilize other spaces/fans while the rooms cooled down.
Very friendly, responsive and helpful hosts! 
Ben7/04/2023The place is everything you need. Very well centralized to go places. Very well maintained. The owners are very accommodating to your needs. Perfect for larger groups or multi family vacations. Very comfortable and relaxing. Hope to visit again in the future! 
Ken11/19/2021This place is in a great location! Currently seeing some renovations, but quite the ample space and great for large groups. There are some other tenants on property and no washer/dryer. However, the big open space on the main floor is very enjoyable and a great view out the front!

I booked at the last minute, but JanElle and her family were so welcoming and accommodating. The place is close to Mesa Verde NP, but you could come here just for a vacation.
Located on a large property (farm?) there are sweet touches like bottled water and snacks in each suite, a game room and kitchen. In the common area and even a tire swing outside for the kids. We saw deer across the street last night and a million stars.
The hosts were also incredibly helpful in recommending local restaurants and breakfast was amazing.
We stumbled on this listing out of necessity, and will be back by choice. You won’t be disappointed.

Ann9/24/2020Great ranch location outside of Cortez. We stayed in the wranglers roost room(s) which had two private and one semi-private bedrooms. Clean and comfortable space. Shared kitchen space, which worked for us, but no other guests really used it that week.

Dominic11/06/2023Such a fun unique stay! Great value, especially for families. Our private “suite” was very roomy— 2 private bedrooms plus another semi private space with a single bed, plus a large entry hall and living room! It felt like an entire 2 bedroom apartment. Breakfast was amazing and really contributes to the warm hospitality. We enjoyed our conversations with the hosts and learned a lot about the area. The views are beautiful. We played some ping pong and a board game. It was nice to see a true family business with the kids pitching in too. A great Airbnb experience. Highly recommended!

Divas1/10/2021What a great place! There were 15 of us and we weren’t a bit crowded. It was so spacious! It was also very well stocked and had everything we needed. Our family really enjoyed the corn hole, tire swing, and ping pong. We especially loved all the deer. Beds were comfy and towels were plentiful. I would highly recommend JanElle’s place!

The Wranglers Roost was plenty comfortable for our overnight stay - bedding options, space, and value were a win. We greatly appreciated the service and offerings JanElle and Todd provide, and we'd look forward to an opportunity to stay again while in the area. 
Ryan3/15/2022 - Great, spacious lodge for large families. Loved having the game room as part of the house, and the feel of the place if very warm and welcoming with thoughtful decorations. The host is absolutely fantastic, helping with any issues in the lodge and also giving great tips for local activities.

Valerie7/13/2020We had a fantastic stay! We were comfortably able to accommodate our group staying at the home and our family that visited during the day that lives locally. The home is very spacious and a perfect location for large families or multiple families traveling together. We cooked our full Thanksgiving meal and had plenty of cooking utensils to use in the kitchen. The game room and tire swing were hits with the kids. Very friendly and responsive hosts, would definitely recommend!

Jana makes the most delicious homemade muffins and it was so nice to wake up to a homemade breakfast. We felt so cozy here. My son also forgot his stuffed animal there and Jana was kind enough to offer mailing it to us. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

Todd11/03/2021This place will not disappoint you! JanElle and her family are amazing wonderful kind souls! They went above and beyond to make sure we got the best experience durning our stay. JanElle was in constant contact with me weeks before our arrival we had a million questions and she was sure to answer and figure stuff out for us. We loved the extras we added to our stay. The murder mystery dinner was a blast and her family came and sat in the heat and kept score and set up a cornhole tournament. Cause ya know we are a bit competitive our family was able to get closer and connect and relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The lake was just a 20 minute drive and there was plenty to do. We will definitely be having our next family reunion here again. Book this place for an amazing experience ❤️

A perfect stay to come back to after the day exploring Mesa Verde National park! We saw a beautiful sunset and some deer from the porch to end the night!
