- Great, spacious lodge for large families. Loved having the game room as part of the house, and the feel of the place if very warm and welcoming with thoughtful decorations. The host is absolutely fantastic, helping with any issues in the lodge and also giving great tips for local activities.

Todd11/03/2021Wow, what a wonderful stay! JanElle should have a super host status, they went far and beyond what was written on the website-- cooked gourmet breakfast with extra portions for my hungry boys, brought printer from her house so we can print some paperwork and even made me a batch of her signature apricot jam to take home with me. The house was so spacious, hosts don't leave there, but there were other rooms for occupants with shared kitchen and playroom. We didn't feel crowded at all, hosts even separated us for breakfast because of Covid 19 scare. My boys LOVED the space-- there were so many toys there in a separate playroom, we didn't see them because they were so busy playing. Overall, the best stay ever, we will recommend it to all our friends and would love to come back!

Samantha3/24/2020We stayed in the Wrangler's Roost which was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the hospitality. My kids loved the game room, huge yard, and playground set! We also loved the wonderful breakfast, it was homemade and amazing! I highly recommended Janelle's Airbnb! 
Cheryl6/25/2020We really enjoyed our stay at this great location! We enjoyed watching deer from the front and back windows, being away from the city, access to the large private and shared spaces. Great location for a great price! 
Marlow10/22/2023We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is spacious and comfortable. We had 10 people in our group and we definitely could have fit a few more comfortably. There are even some futons and pull out couches if you need to cram in a few more beyond that.
The hosts were very helpful when needed. The view is amazing. The yard was fun for the kids to play in. They loved the tire swing! We loved that each suite had its own sitting area and TV. I wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely try to get back for another stay someday. 
Laurie4/18/2022We loved staying here! Dolores is such a fun, cute little town and the house was situated in a great spot for seeing all the sights we wanted to hit.
The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The kitchen and bathrooms were extremely well stocked and there was plenty of extra bedding and things all around. The kids LOVED the toy room and we loved that we could shut the door and get some peace and quiet while they played. They spent most of the time on the playground, tire swing, or watching for deer on the porch. We had plenty of space in the kitchen (2 large tables), and loved that we could have a space for each family we were traveling with. We spent delightful evenings on the porch, and would love to return.
The only thing on our wish list that was missing was a washer and dryer. 
Mindy8/15/2021The Mountain View Lodge was a lovely property, and proved to be a choice location while traveling through Cortez. The Wranglers Roost was plenty comfortable for our overnight stay - bedding options, space, and value were a win. We greatly appreciated the service and offerings JanElle and Todd provide, and we'd look forward to an opportunity to stay again while in the area. 
Ryan3/15/2022This place will not disappoint you! JanElle and her family are amazing wonderful kind souls! They went above and beyond to make sure we got the best experience durning our stay. JanElle was in constant contact with me weeks before our arrival we had a million questions and she was sure to answer and figure stuff out for us. We loved the extras we added to our stay. The murder mystery dinner was a blast and her family came and sat in the heat and kept score and set up a cornhole tournament. Cause ya know we are a bit competitive our family was able to get closer and connect and relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The lake was just a 20 minute drive and there was plenty to do. We will definitely be having our next family reunion here again. Book this place for an amazing experience ❤️

Fabien3/23/2020Talk about some amazing hospitality! This was such a cute setup on a little farm with an awesome views! Jana makes the most delicious homemade muffins and it was so nice to wake up to a homemade breakfast. We felt so cozy here. My son also forgot his stuffed animal there and Jana was kind enough to offer mailing it to us. We will definitely be back next time we are in town! 
Paige7/16/2020JanElle and her husband, were great! Very helpful and always willing to help. Their place was absolutely beautiful and perfect for my stay. It had everything I needed and close to town but perfectly hidden away from city lights and noise.

Ann9/24/2020The unit was the perfect size and layout for our family of five. The location is mere minutes from the entrance to Canyon of the Ancients National Monument and a very short drive to Mesa Verda National Park. It is near enough to town to provide easy access to stores and restaurants while still being just enough "off the beaten path" to be peacefully quiet and provide many opportunities to enjoy the passing deer. The common-area kitchen was clean and well equipped for all our cooking needs. My daughter loved the tire swing out front while my son played the piano in the spacious common-area living/dining room. The host communicated well and made check-in and check-out super easy. We definitely plan to stay here again in the near future! Luke10/06/2021JanElle’s was everything we expected and more. Aaron7/18/2020Perfect for our one-night stay near Mesa Verde NP. Very quiet, private, and peaceful location near restaurants and stores. Super clean and very spacious with two separate bedrooms connected to a sitting area and private bathroom. Lots of amenities and the access to a full kitchen on the first floor was a huge plus - we used this stop to re-supply for the next leg of our cross country road trip. Dolores is a cool town with lots of interesting things to do and Cortez has all the stores and amenities travelers need. Host checked on us soon after arrival to see if we had any questions or needed anything - great stay!

Theresa3/24/2022This place was awesome. Great location for Mesa Verde. Plenty of room for 6 people, 2 private rooms, and a great common room downstairs. Also a really cool mountain view from the front porch with some chairs. Nice and quiet, very clean, would highly recommend!

So many delightful ways to spend time at Mountain View Lodge and in the Cortez/Durango area. We would definitely recommend this spot! The common area downstairs is a nice touch as it gives the opportunity to interact with other guests while you make coffee (should you so choose). The view is incredible with a patio to sit on while you look over the valley. 
Kelsey9/26/2020Such a fun unique stay! Great value, especially for families. Our private “suite” was very roomy— 2 private bedrooms plus another semi private space with a single bed, plus a large entry hall and living room! It felt like an entire 2 bedroom apartment. Breakfast was amazing and really contributes to the warm hospitality. We enjoyed our conversations with the hosts and learned a lot about the area. The views are beautiful. We played some ping pong and a board game. It was nice to see a true family business with the kids pitching in too. A great Airbnb experience. Highly recommended! 
Allison6/29/2020This place is in a great location! Currently seeing some renovations, but quite the ample space and great for large groups. There are some other tenants on property and no washer/dryer. However, the big open space on the main floor is very enjoyable and a great view out the front!

Tracer4/11/2021The place was absolutely perfect for our needs - a suite of rooms that easily slept mom & dad & 3 full grown kids comfortably - could have even fit 2 more in a pinch! Breakfast was amazing! The view from the front porch is beautiful. We were just sorry we couldn’t stay longer to enjoy the ping pong, corn hole & foosball!
